I like books about unconventional youngsters and the people who raise them. ‘Special Topics in Calamity Physics’ by Marisha Pessl has all that and the bag of chips. Young girl, raised by very cerebral and somewhat strange father with a past he doesn’t discuss. Goes to exclusive school where she finds that even the “normal” people have their own idiosyncrasies. I remember being riveted until the book was done. I highly recommend this one.
