Breaking Through

Maybe Never coverThe messiest of love stories to be found in any of my books, hands down, is the love story between Brendan and Tracy in ‘Unsuitable Men’. Tracy is beautiful on the outside, but feels ugly inside. She can’t love herself, and she can’t accept the love of a good man, Brendan, because she fundamentally doesn’t believe she’s a good woman. Even when there seems to be a breakthrough, with a woman as complicated and as troubled as Tracy, you have to wonder, can there really be a happily ever after?

This novella provides the answer: ‘Maybe Never‘. Coming Soon.

Now, because I know some people might be curious about when ‘soon’ is, all I can tell you is that I love giving Valentine’s Day gifts.  Having said that, I also love giving birthday gifts, but am generally the person who winds up calling to say ‘Happy Belated Birthday’ and sending the gift late by FedEx. And I’m also working on ‘The Art of Endings’ so that’s a factor as well.

In the meantime, my suggestion would be to (re)read ‘Unsuitable Men’ and fall in love with Brendan and Tracy (again, if you loved them the first time around). This book is both their (sort of) ending and the prequel to the book about Chris Scaife, the unlikeliest of leading men to come out of ‘Commitment’.

Happy Reading!

  1. I am a person that usually avoids the previews of my favorite TV programs and will frequently avoid any mention of an exerpt from my favorite author’s new book. Why did I read this blog today? You are making me nervous because as we discussed earlier today, I love my happy endings and in my mind, Tracy and Brendan were living happily ever after. Now I have to wait and wonder if that is just a fantasy?!!

  2. WOW!!! I came here to give you kudos on ‘The Seduction of Dylan Acosta’, but now I’m so sad I came! You are a cruel, cruel woman! I, too, had convinced myself that Tracy and Brendan were fine, but here YOU go. And then, you won’t even tell use when the book is coming out? Lemme go delete this review I left for you on Amazon and move on with my life.LOL!!!

I’ve read all of your books and I’m waiting with bated (sp?) breath for the next one, so get moving.

p.s. Love the way the dress on the cover of the book is not fully tied up, kinda left hanging. You’re quite the little tease, aren’t you?

    1. Wow! You caught that about the dress! Yes, Brendan and Tracy have some unfinished business. You saw what a mess she was, you can’t possibly have believed I was done with her . . .

  3. I had hoped that you would leave Tracy be, but alas, I guess not. I decided to torture myself and read the excerpt, so I know it’s gonna be good. Can’t wait!!

Keep up the good work, missy!!!!

  4. You are just incredible! I love the way that you delve deep into the complexities of human nature. We’ll see if Brendan is truly ready for Tracy because she is a force to be reckoned with. Sometimes even the laid back ones like Brendan get tired because even iron wears out. I am looking forward to everything you have coming up. It’s so funny before I read your comment above, I was thinking that the same thing. I thought to myself her characters must be speaking to her and demanding to be heard because I remember your blog post about sequels. Thank you for blessing us with your art.

    1. No, thank you for reading it all! I have to eat my words about sequels/spin-offs to some degree, because I now know firsthand how that can happen. But I think when I left Tracy, she was still a work in progress, so this is just a check in before I get to the actual longer work about Chris, but your comment about Brendan “getting tired” is pretty much the focus of this one . . . so we’ll see how that turns out. 😉
